It’s 05:33am on Thursday morning and I have been awake since mid-day on Tuesday. Pain etc. still keeping me up. I went to a brilliant gig earlier on, although I was worried that I’d fall asleep during it due to my exhaustion and sleep depravation, but even after consuming no coffee all day, I’m still here unable to sleep.
Since getting into bed I’ve suffered a mild seizure (just the one as far as I can tell) and other than that pretty much have just been laying there. I’ve taken three sleeping pills since tuesday night and still not managed to sleep. One of those on it’s own used to do it. I think I’m going to need to take two of them tonight.
Pain is unbearable but can’t take any more painkillers, I’m already hallucinating. Every shadow in my room has become absolutely terrifying. I really wish I wasn’t here on my own right now. I’m scared and hurting and so sick of all of this.
Up late with girl. Girl falls asleep. Decide to hack Android tablet. Get stuck. Give up. Already had root access. Oh.
An open message to the people who bring prams/pushchairs on buses.
When using public transport with your children, please consider the following facts;
1 // You chose to bring your children into the world.
2 // You have the option of folding your pushchair and placing the child in a seat or on your lap.
3 // The sign in the wheelchair space on London buses reads “Baby buggies can use this area IF IT IS NOT NEEDED BY A WHEELCHAIR USER”
4 // Tutting and complaining under your breath about what a hassle it is for you to move your horrible screaming little wretch of a child, and then acting like you have done me some enormous favour, automatically makes you a bitch.
5 // If you silently mouth “Sorry” through the window of a bus which I am unable to board due to the fact that your oversized pushchair and someones suitcases are taking up the entire wheelchair space, do not be surprised if I give you the finger.
Radiohead - OK Computer (8-bit) [FULL ALBUM] (by QuintonSung)
Simply wonderful. OK Computer recreated in it’s entirety as 8-bit Chiptune. This same guy has also done a Chiptune version of Kid A. Brilliant work.

Song of the day // iwrestledabearonce - Tastes Like Kevin Bacon
Just got home from the @MTFHackCamp at @MusicTechFest, and I can honestly say it was the best 2 days I have had in recent memory. I wish that event could have carried on for ever so I could live there.
I got to spend time hacking together a really fun project, then present it to an audience of wonderful creative & talented people, and even ended up getting up to have a jam with Matt Black, founder of Ninja Tune. Swapped business cards with a lot of brilliant people, and made some new contacts & friends that could lead to some great education and career opportunities for me in the future.
What with all of the medical problems and other crap I’ve had going on recently, this was exactly what I needed, so to everybody involved I extend my thanks, and I hope there can be a lot more fantastic opportunities like this in the future.
i have a special friend, we met completely by chance, and now we regularly stay on skype so late into the night that we both fall asleep with the video call still running. it’s weird and i like it and im tired but its worth it.

I am awesome. Today was a bit of an emotional rollercoaster, which fortunately ended on a pleasant high after spending some time being a lot more mobile than I have been for a quite some time.

I discovered tonight after having a simple partial seizure during a Skype call, that one of my best and closest friends has an “Adam emergency preparedness kit”.
I’m going through a lot of pretty shitty stuff lately, but having wonderful & caring people in my life makes it all so much easier.
Thank you, you wonderful beast.
This wonderfully bizarre bass needs a name.
Any suggestions?
Update // It’s called 不格好5K (pronounced bukkakō which roughly translates to ‘misshapen’)
Try and tell me that a guitar needs to be a certain shape, or look a certain way. Go on, just try.
This is the basic framework of the bass guitar to which I’ll be adding an Arduino and a bunch of sensors at Music Hack Camp. I’m really pleased with how the colour came out, it’s Stewmac lightfast dye over New Zealand pine, followed by a few coats of lemon oil. The EL strip light that will go along the neck of the bass should be roughly the same colour too, which will look pretty sweet.
#musictechfest // Got some building done for the extremely bare-bones fretless bass to which I’ll be adding sensors and an arduino at Music Hack Camp this weekend.
A box of delights is on the way.
